The press conference began with a minute of silence, paying tribute to the recently deceased FENA news agency journalist, Alen Mujkanović.
Guests at today’s press conference were long-time football worker, Predrag Naletilić, and the famous journalist in this area, Branko Tomić and Zdravko Reić.
Prosinečki announced the names of the players and said:
“There is a match with Austria that means a lot to us, because we have the opportunity to secure the first place in the group in the Nations League. Then there is a match with one of the best national teams in the world, Spain. We also invited two new players from the U-21 team, Ermedin Demirović and Amer Gojak. These are the two players that were the best in the U-21 qualifications and they will surely be the bearers of the game in the “A” team in the future.”
The head coach also commented on the injury of Elvis Sarić:
“Sarić was injured, but he started training and hope he will be ready for the match. We will definitely know this when he comes to the gathering.”
Prosinečki says about the opponent in the Nations League:
“Austria has a very good team consisting of players who mostly play in the Bundesliga. There are also Arnautović and Alaba who make a difference. They know that only a victory leaves them in a game for the first place and they will probably play offensively. We will play the best we can. I think that we have enough quality to achieve the result that would hold us in the first place in the group.”
