Goalkeeper Ibrahim Šehić believes that our national team is playing better and better:

“I am disappointed, because we played a great game. I’m sorry we didn’t crown it with at least one point. We had a few good chances. We are not satisfied with the result, but we can see a shift in our game. We progress from match to match. The boys deserved the support of the public, to build a team easier, gain self-confidence and start winning.”

Šehić also adds:

“We knew we had to be compact against France, which is a great team. They are world champions after all. We analysed the game of France well and tried to neutralize their wings. We didn’t give them many chances. However, one moment of inattention and the top team took advantage of that. We need to learn something from this. The team is young and this seems much more serious to me than in previous actions. We leave this gathering with positive impressions.”

Gojko Cimirot stated:

“It can be said that we showed a good game in the matches with Finland and France. We were dedicated and we played at a high level. We parried France tonight, but we were unlucky. We didn’t use our chances and goalkeeper Lloris was up to the task. It is a pity that we did not achieve a better result.”

Amir Hadžiahmetović thinks similarly:

“We played a very good match and I think we deserved at least one point. We had some chances that we did not use and I hope we will have more luck in the next matches. However, it was obvious that we worked well in training sessions and we played a fair match.”

Darko Todorović says:

“I am very sorry that we did not achieve at least a draw. I think we deserved it. France is a top team, but we offered them strong resistance and we had some chances that we should have used. Unfortunately, we lost, but we should not stop now. We will turn to the next matches. We could learn a lot tonight and, despite the defeat, it was clear that we could play against the best. It will definitely give us confidence for the future. It is obvious that we are more and more compact and we showed through these two qualifying matches that we have quality.”
