The BH team had a great opportunity already in the first minute of the match. Demir Peco centred from the right, the Portugal’s goalkeeper Joel Pereira badly assessed the ball, so it came to Ermedin Demirović whose attempt by head was blocked by home team defenders.
Portugal had a good try in the 12th minute, when João Félix, by a head shot from eight meters, sent the ball beside the goal.
André Horta brought Portugal to lead in the 20th minute by a precise kick from twenty meters.
Horta once again strongly shot from distance in the 37th minute, but this time Nemanja Trkulja greatly intervened.
The selected players of Vinko Marinović equalized the result in the 44th minute. Ivan Jukić sent the ball to Ermedin Demirović, who grabbed it in the best way in the opponents’ penalty area, released of his guard and sent the ball behind the back of Joel Pereira for 1:1.
Diogo Jota shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 53rd minute, and the ball rebounded from the crossbar to João Félix who, seven meters from the right side, hit the opposite corner of the BH team’s goal, so Portugal again came to advantage.
João Carvalho kicked well on the right side from about 25 meters in the 59th minute, but the ball passed close to the goal.
In the 63rd minute, Diogo Gonçalves passed three players from the BH team and scored the third goal for Portugal.
Ivan Jukić shot from about 20 meters in the 88th minute, but was not precise.
In the first minute of the additional time, Portugal came to the fourth goal. João Filipe brilliantly passed the left side of the BH penalty area, lofted a ball over Trkulja, and Heriberto Tavares sent the ball from the goal-line into the net.
After a mistake of the Portuguese goalkeeper Joel Pereira in the 4th minute of the additional time, the debutante in the BH youth team, Aldin Turkeš, set the final result of the match.
Another two matches of group 10 were played today. Wales beat Switzerland 3:1 at home, while Romania hosted Liechtenstein and beat 4:0.
Romania finished qualifications as first ranked with 24 points and qualified to the EURO, while second-placed Portugal will go to play-off. Bosnia and Herzegovina is third with 18 points ahead of Wales (13), Switzerland (10) and Liechtenstein (0).
