Germany capitalized on its field dominance and greater possession in the 36', when Paula Rintzner, following an assist from Helen Börner, scored the first goal of this year's European Championship. The teams went into halftime with that score.
Just four minutes after the restart, Germany doubled its lead. Following an excellent solo run down the right, Felicija Strasser fired into the top right corner of the BiH goal from 16 meters. The same player got on the scoresheet again in the 57', heading home from a Paula Rintzner corner to make it 3:0. In the 71', Elira Terakaj delivered a cross from the right, and Emma Memminger sent the ball into the net from five to six meters. Lany Backer set the final 5:0 score in the fifth minute of stoppage time with a spectacular strike from more than 25 meters.
