The project was approved by UEFA and includes various activities for migrants such as training, education, entertaining football, tournaments, etc.
First demonstration trainings led by coaches from FK Respekt were held in past two days at Ušivak migrant camps in Hadžići and Blažuj.
Leader of this project, the grassroots manager of FFBiH Ivana Vlaić, is satisfied with first activities being initiated for migrants who are currently residing in our country:
"This project was approved earlier, but its implementation was significantly slowed down due to pandemic of Corona virus. Trainings have already taken place in the Ušivak camp and in Blažuj as well. It is clear to us that migrants are going through very difficult time in their lives and our goal is to make their situation at least little bit easier through football activities.
We would like to thank IOM for its cooperation, as well as the Respekt Football School, whose coaches are working with migrants. Implementation of this project will include other camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. Earlier, we had organized workshops in Bihać, but due to the pandemic, we did not complete everything we had planned. However, in the future we plan to organize these activities in the area of Una-Sana Canton as well.”
Two training sessions will be held in the Ušivak and Blažuj camps and migrants who would like to continue with regular training sessions, will be able to do so at FC Respekt. Founder and director of FC Respekt Emir Hujdur, points out that his club is entering into the implementation of this project with great enthusiasm:
"Respekt as unique organisation in Europe and winner of two UEFA awards, is proudly entering into another wonderful project. By the way, with its mission and vision and slogan "Football for all", Respekt uses football as a tool for integration, acceptance and socialization. In this way, we open door to everyone because everyone has rights to equal chances and opportunities."
