The first demo training session for new participants was held at SC Kantarevac, where coaches and educators had the opportunity to experience in practice the content they previously covered in online workshops.
Bojan Aćimović, FFBiH football development associate, and Mirjana Mucović, Playmakers project coordinator for Trebinje, answered numerous questions from attendees regarding organization and methodology. Participants received sports equipment and training props to be used during sessions.
Aćimović pointed out that the Playmakers program in Bosnia and Herzegovina is steadily growing: "At first, everything seemed quite tentative because we didn’t know how the project would take off. However after the first few seasons, interest surged, and I expect several more cities and municipalities to join us in the coming years. Mostar already has experience with Playmakers, and now we’re bringing in new subjects. We’re also expanding in Cazin and Bijeljina, which means we’re covering nearly the entire territory of BiH."
Mirjana Mucović led workshops and a demo session for new coaches and project leaders: "As time goes on, we’re more in sync, and the initial training sessions now run much more smoothly. The kids are happy and full of impressions, and that’s what matters most. Our goal is to help them fall in love with a healthy lifestyle through play and football. We’re doing our best to support coaches in taking their first steps, which can sometimes be challenging, but I can see they’re very well prepared and that the kids will enjoy working with them."
UEFA and Disney created Playmakers - the largest European program for girls - which promotes women’s football through innovative and fun training sessions inspired by Disney films. The program is also tailored for girls who haven’t previously participated in sports activities and, in addition to basic football skills, encourages creativity, decision-making, and team spirit.
