Before them, there was also here a younger group of the camp participants, so they started with the second season of practical application of this UEFA program, intended for national associations.
Because of the snow, the camp attendees use the pitch in the “balloon” instead of the outside pitch, but it does not disturb them with doing everything they are asked.
The project leader, Darko Ljubojević, is satisfied, because everything is implemented according to this plan and program:
“In accordance with our program activities, and in cooperation with UEFA, we are also implementing this year elite youth players’ development project. We will work according to the same program as last year. So, there will four camps in four different regions. In this way, we will cover the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and test over 200 boys.”
Ljubojević emphasizes that FF BH has been positively rated by the UEFA experts for the implementation of this project:
“During last year, we had two controls of the UEFA expert in the implementation and realisation of the project, and he was extremely pleased with the way we work. Based on his estimations, we obtained the approval to continue the project in 2018. We started with this year’s first camp, which included the Herzegovina region. We work with boys born in 2003 and 2004. We worked with the older one last week, while there is currently a camp for the players born in 2004.”
There are only words of praise about the potentials of young footballers who worked hard last week:
“There are interesting players. Thanks to this project, we got the opportunity we did not have before, which is to test players 13 or 14 years old and to select them in some way. In this way, we also help head coaches of older age categories to get an insight into the quality of the players of this age. There are gifted boys here and it’s something that can make us happy.”
From Monday, the work in camp will be supervised by Eric Deletang, the UEFA representative in charge of project monitoring and implementation.
Already upon his arrival, Deletang had a meeting with coaches, which is extremely important, because everyone should accept the same philosophy and methodology of work:
“I think there is noticeable progress in all segments. What is interesting to me is that the coaches have also adopted a new philosophy in working with the youngest players, i.e. to adapt easily to new methods in carrying out the trainings themselves.”
Deletang also believes that the boys currently working in the camp are talented:
“This is a new group and it can be seen that the Herzegovina region has potentials. There is continuity in work, which especially satisfies us in UEFA, when we get to the site and recognize it.”
