Bosnia and Herzegovina national cadet team player and a Red Star Belgrade member Sasa Peric is disappointed because of defeat in the first round of Group B of the European Championship in Baku.
This talented winger thinks our team could have done better: "We thought that Austria would be an easier opponent, but we were wrong. It's true that Austria was way better than us in the first half, however we woke up in the second, and I'd say the opponent was lucky because on several occasions their goal was saved by an excellent goalkeeper. Simply we were late with our performance, which cost us the result in the end. But, we'll move on and won't surrender.
Germany is a football superpower, but we're not afraid of anyone. This is an unpredictable game and certainly we're not thinking about defeat. While we still have a chance of advancing to the next stage, we'll fight no matter who's the opponent. We've showed before we can play against the best teams, and with that attitude we'll start the next match."
Our cadets had the opportunity to attend the lectures on refereeing, doping and match-fixing, and according to Peric, they got a lot of useful information: "The lectures we attended were very useful and interesting. I especially liked the part about doping in sports, where everything was explained in detail. I had no idea there are so many substances that must be avoided which could cost us our careers. We all have to be careful, and it's a good thing we attended these presentations."
