Bosnia and Herzegovina Under-16 national football team won the Josip Katalinski Skija cadet memorial tournament today at the FFBIH training center in Zenica, after beating Montenegro in the finals. The match ended a draw 1-1, and following the penatly shootout, our team won 4-2.
Assistant coach Damjan Ratkovic: "We're happy with the outcome. Maybe Montenegro was better when it comes to ball possesion, but in the end we won. We're very glad for winning the tournament that bears the name of a true football legend."
After the finals, the winning team was presented with a trophy by the honorary Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina president Ivica Osim, while the trophies for the second and third place (Montenegro and City of Belgrade) were handed over by FFBIH vice president Ivan Beus and Football Association of Canton Sarajevo president Galin Kulovac respectively.
Fair play award was given to City of Sarajevo's team by FFBIH general secretary Jasmin Bakovic.
Of all players, Amir Muzurovic from BiH team was declared the most reminiscent of Josip Katalinski, and was given a recognition by late Skija's wife Jasna.
