The annual Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina general assembly was held today at the hotel Terme, Ilidza.
Besides all regular delegates, UEFA representative Thierry Favre was present at the meeting along with mediation board members Ivica Osim and Sead Kajtaz, national football team coach Mehmed Bazdarevic, regional federations' representatives, olympic committee members, FBIH Ministry of culture and sports, and other FFBIH representatives and employees.
Before the meeting started, FFBIH president Elvedin Begic called for a moment of silence to honor the deceased delegate Radislav Kundacina and other football workers, who have left us between the two assemblies.
FFBIH verification committee found that 55 out of 60 delegates were present at today's assembly meaning all decisions made today are valid and final.
After president Begic's welcoming and introduction speech, Thierry Favre from UEFA addressed the attendees: "I'm glad to be able to greet you all on UEFA's behalf. I've been following FFBIH's work for 14 years and there are some things from the past that I don't want to remember. Instead, I prefer to focus on the progress that's been made since the new leadership was elected. We'll continue to monitor FFBIH's work, however we're not happy with the political influence and interference with football. Football should absolutely be free of politics, and I'd like to emphasize that UEFA will continue to provide support to FFBIH's management and the new projects, including the new office building which is scheduled for opening later this year." For his contribution to the development of FFBIH and its projects, president Begic handed an official commendation to Mr. Favre.
President of the Bosnia and Herzegovina olympic committee Marijan Kvesic addressed the assembly delegates emphasizing that "FFBIH is the most organized professional association in Bosnia, especially in terms of constitutional and statutory legislation."
FFBIH work report was submitted by general secretary Jasmin Bakovic, who earlier said: "FFBIH's mission is the development of football in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we care about it and we intend to improve it in the future."
In 2015, FFBIH has performed many activities and implemented a significant number of projects in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its own regulations, and FIFA/UEFA standards. However, the year wasn't completely successful because the national "A" football team failed to qualify for the European Championship in France, but the other national teams showed a significant improvement, especially male Under-17 team who has already met their 2016 goal and managed to qualify for this year's European Championship.
After comprehensive discussions about the 2015 work and financial reports, the delegates evaluated the the reports, described them as transparent, professionally prepared and in the end unanimously adopted all of them. In addition to the sports aspects, it's important to mention that FFBIH is also devoted to the humanitarian and social activities making it a socially responsible company. Shortly after, the assembly delegates adopted the following items:
- 2015 FFBIH work report,
- 2015 FFBIH financial report, and
- 2015 FFBIH audit report.
General secretary Jasmin Bakovic presented FFBIH's programme for 2016: "Our plan is ambitious, but we aim to better ourselves. This year brings many challenges - elections for governing bodies, statute harmonization across all levels, World Cup qualifying, reducing the Premier League to 12 teams, the beginning of a new domestic WU-17 championship, "house of football" internal project, and so on. Financial committee member Momir Tosic elaborated in detail their income and expenditures plan for this year.
Thierry Favre introduced a new UEFA project, which encompasses the development of youth football. UEFA has appointed vice-president Darko Ljubojevic as a head of this project, with a primary goal to work with young athletes and create a pool of professional players.
At the end of this session, delegates unanimously adopted the the 2016 work plan, 2016 financial plan, the decision to appoint the election committee for the 2016 FFBIH elections, and the decision to establish a unified female Under-17 cadet league.
All reports and plans were accompanied by textual and video presentations. After three hours of work, the FFBIH general assembly was once again deemed a successful and well prepared event.
