Barbarez After the Draw: "Big Job in Wales First, Then a Fight for the World Cup in Front of Our Fans"

Bosnia and Herzegovina national "A" team head coach Sergej Barbarez commented on today’s World Cup 2026 playoffs draw held at FIFA headquarters in Zurich: "I think this is a draw we can live with. Wales is a strong and serious team, especially on home field, but we’ve got our own strengths and belief in what we’re doing. It will be a demanding game, but I’m fully convinced we’ll prepare well and give our best. My only wish was to play the potential final at home. That’ll be a huge motivation for all of us. First, we’ve got to do a big job in Wales, and if we succeed, we’ll fight for a World Cup ticket on our own pitch."

BiH will face Wales away in the playoff semifinal for the World Cup. The winner of that match will host the final against the winner of Italy vs Northern Ireland.
