Mission World Cup 2026 Begins

Bosnia and Herzegovina national “A” team players are gathering today in Ilidža, where preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup officially began, where our best team will appear for the second time, the first since 2014.

After years of waiting, big games, emotions, and an unforgettable qualifying journey, a new chapter stands before the Dragons, one that will once again write pages of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s football history. The gathering in Ilidža marks the beginning of fulfilling a dream that millions of fans across our country and throughout the diaspora will live this summer.

Head coach Sergej Barbarez and his staff will have at their disposal a group of players that earned qualification among the world’s best national teams through unity, character, and great determination. The atmosphere within the team, support from all football lovers, and the pride of representing our country on the biggest football stage provide additional motivation ahead of the challenges to come.

During preparations, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team will play two friendlies; against North Macedonia on May 29 in Sarajevo and Panama on June 6 in St. Louis, before heading into the World Cup.

The Dragons will compete in a group with Canada, Switzerland, and Qatar at the World Cup, while the entire football public in Bosnia and Herzegovina eagerly awaits the start of our national team’s new global challenge.
