A press conference was held today in the premises of the BH FF in Sarajevo, where the head coach of the “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faruk Hadžibegić, announced the names of the players for the qualifying matches for EURO 2024 with Iceland and Slovakia.
In his address to the journalists, the head coach Hadžibegić said, among other things:
“That would be the first list I made. We originally planned to invite 23 players, but after the injuries, I decided with the assistants from the technical staff to invite 25. Of the new names, there is Mešanović, because I was thinking about the side positions with Duljević and Stevanović, so we invited him. He plays standard in his club. Among the younger players, there is Tahirović, who will be with us for the first time. We were thinking about some other players who are not here now, but could get an invitation in the future.”
Faruk Hadžibegić also spoke about the system in which the national team will play:
“I have an idea about that as well. Our players play in all possible systems. Both 4-4-2 and 4-1-4-1, and with three players in the back line. We will see where they feel best and when the preparations begin, we will know in which system they are best at.
The gathering of the national team is scheduled for 19th March at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica.
