I am proud of the players

After the BH national team was defeated by France last night with a minimum score of 1:0, upon their return to the hotel, they were welcomed by the head coach Ivaylo Petev. In an emotional speech, the head coach said, among other things:

“First of all, I want to tell you that I am proud of you and that I am pleased to have met you. It was an honour to work with you and I really repeat once again that I am proud of how you played and how you behaved from the beginning of the preparations until now. We have a foundation and we must continue to work and move forward. We were a little short tonight, so we could win a point or more. I wish you good luck in your clubs and I am here for you whenever you need me. We have to keep working and it will be good.”

Due to the positive test for the coronavirus, the head coach followed and said goodbye to the players who were leaving the hotel from a distance, and then, with the technical staff, he analysed the details from the previous match.

The head coach explained how the communication with the technical staff went and how he felt:

“I didn’t feel good watching the match on TV. It was strange to me that I was not at the stadium and that I did not have direct contact with the players. You never know what awaits you in life, so for the first time I communicated with my associates by phone. At least, we were all here at the hotel, so we used other ways of working.

I really have nothing to say about the guys except that I am proud of them, but also of the technical staff. Thanks to them for their sacrifice and dedication, they fulfilled the tasks, fought, ran and we deserved to take at least one point. But I’m sure it will come back to us somewhere, we still played against the World Champions. I am sure that we will progress and look even better in the future, but we must be united and continue to create a positive atmosphere and self-confidence together.”

Regardless of the fact that his health condition is stable, Petev will still remain in isolation and under medical supervision.
