Milošević: I believe in success and qualification for EURO 2024

In March, the “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to qualify for the European Championship, which will be held in Germany this summer.

The BH team played its last matches in November, and head coach Savo Milošević is using the period until the play-offs to familiarize the national team players with the work plan before the match with Ukraine, which is scheduled for 21st March in Zenica.

“I am in contact with the players, and in the coming period I am planning a trip to Germany and Turkey, where many of our national team players are playing. I will watch their matches there and take the opportunity to talk live. In general, we have presented to everyone what we plan to do in a tactical sense, and I believe that we will be ready to play the play-offs”, said Milošević and added:

“We are satisfied with the current shape of the players, who mostly play very well for their clubs. However, it’s all relative and the most important thing for us is that everyone is healthy until the play-offs and that we have them all together in the upcoming, very important national team action.”

When asked about possible new names in the “A” team, the head coach answered:

“As for new players, there can only be a name from the youth national team, if some gaps need to be filled. They are the future of this national team and we are counting on them. At the previous gatherings, we checked out several new players and we have a clear picture of what we can expect from whom.”

Milošević points out that Anel Ahmedhodžić will also be available in the play-offs:

“As I said before, the story around him is finished. It is important that he is healthy in March and we are counting on him in the play-offs.”

The head coach believes that the BH team can achieve qualification for a major competition:

“It won’t be easy in the play-offs, especially since our first opponent is the very high-quality Ukraine. It’s good that we are playing at home, I hope for two matches. This type of play-off is complicated and anything is possible in one match. I believe that we can achieve success and qualify for the European Championship. We subordinated everything to that.”

Savo Milošević also commented on the friendly match with England, which will be played in June:

“The good thing for our national team is that a match has been arranged with such a strong and attractive opponent as England. Such matches always show you where you are, compared to the biggest teams, and it will be a great experience, especially for younger players. However, that match is far away and our thoughts are now focused solely on what awaits us in the play-offs.”

The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will find out the names of their opponents in the UEFA Nations League on 8th February at 18:00 h when the draw is scheduled in Paris.
