A press conference was held today in the “House of Football” in Sarajevo, at which the head coach of the “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivaylo Petev, announced the names of the players he is counting on for friendly matches with Montenegro and Denmark.

Head coach Petev says about the absence of some national team players:
“There are no Džeko, Pjanić, Gojak and Mihojević on the list. We decided to rest the first two. Gojak has a back injury, and Mihojevic recently had surgery. Besides them, Edin Višća is also missing, who informed me a few days ago that he wanted to say goodbye to the national team and that he couldn’t be 100 percent ready for the “A” team at this moment”, says Petev and continues,
“I am sincerely sorry for that, because we thought he could be one of our key players in the qualifiers. However, we had no choice but to accept his decision. If one day he changes his mind and wants to help his colleagues and his country, we can talk. It is an opportunity to give a chance to new players. I hope that everyone will be healthy, that we will do good preparations and be ready for the matches.”
Ivaylo Petev also commented on the upcoming matches:
“The June date is probably the most difficult, because it comes after the end of the championship competitions. Regardless, the matches ahead of us are important to us. I do not divide matches into friendly and official. When playing for the national team, every match is important and whoever plays must do his best in a jersey with the national coat of arms.”
The national team will gather in Ilidža on 27th May.
