Prosinečki said about the first match with Turkey:
“I hope all players will be healthy and come to this gathering. Probably, some players will also get a chance against Turkey, players who have not played a lot so far, but it is too early to talk about it now. When they come to the preparations, when we talk with everyone, we will decide who will be fielded against Turkey, and whom we will maybe send to rest before the Nations League match against Northern Ireland.”
When asked if there were players in the U-21 team, who could compete for the “A” team, the head coach responded:
“I also spoke with the head coach of the U-21 team, Vinko Marinović, and in November we can expect some players from this selection for the “A” team. As long as they have a chance to qualify to the Euro, they will be at a disposal to the U-21 head coach. It is certain that they are facing a difficult match against Portugal and it is important that he has all players available.”
Robert Prosinečki also commented on the national team of Northern Ireland:
“We will see how they will play their game with Austria. It’s a team that always plays the same regardless of whether they are on a home or away pitch. I hope that there will be a bit different match in Sarajevo compared to that in Belfast. The result against Austria is very important, because it will be then known if they have a chance to pass. In any case, we will do our best to play a good match and win.”
The national team will gather on 8th October at the “Terme” Hotel in Ilidža. The match with Turkey is scheduled for 11.10.2018 in Rize, and with Northern Ireland for 15.10.2018 in Sarajevo.
