During the three-day seminar, referees and assistants went through theoretical and practical activities, including tests on the Laws of the Game, video tests analyzing match situations, fitness checks, and review of refereeing in the autumn part of the season.
Participants were visited by FFBiH Vice Presidents Ivan Beus and Irfan Durić.
The seminar was led by head of the FFBiH refereeing organization Darko Čeferin, who said: "I want to point out that this seminar focused on consistent application of the Laws of the Game and harmonization of refereeing criteria. Special focus was placed on consistent decision-making, particularly in penalty area situations and VAR guideline application. Through structured analysis, testing, and expert-led discussion, technical and tactical aspects of refereeing were improved, confirming the high level of participants' professionalism and responsibility. The knowledge gained is an important step toward raising refereeing quality further, in line with UEFA standards, and we expect referees to apply these guidelines consistently in the continuation of the competition."
The program also included lectures on decisions in the penalty area, offside, fouls and unsporting behavior, handball, VAR intervention lines, teamwork, referees’ physical preparation, and the role of officials in legal and administrative contexts. Lecturers were members of the FFBiH Referees and Refereeing Committee, VAR instructors, fitness instructors, and representatives of FFBiH’s Legal Department.
The seminar concluded with a work summary and fitness checks for referees and assistants, creating conditions for the start of the spring part of the 2025/26 Wwin League BiH.
