In the first 35 minutes of the game, both teams created several opportunities, but the nets did not shake. The second half was marked by captain of the BH team, Matej Deket. At the opening of the second half, this player had an excellent chance, the goalkeeper of Montenegro was already beaten, but the defenders managed to kick the ball into the corner.
In the 49th minute, an indirect kick was awarded for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mak Pita assisted Deket, who sent the ball into the net from the edge of the penalty area for 1:0.
The best moment of the match happened in the 55th minute, when Matej Deket took an excellent free kick from about 20 meters away, and with a strong shot into the goalkeeper’s corner, he doubled the advantage of the BH team.
Aleksa Šehovac had the last chance in the additional time, when he broke free from his defenders, but hit the post.
After the match, the head coach of the BH pioneers, Čedomir Ćulum, stated:
“I must point out that the tournament was superbly organized and that all the teams were at a high level, especially the Montenegrin national team, which was first in its group and showed great quality with eight goals scored. However, today in the final, we thwarted all their good sides and won. This is a promising generation that still has a lot of work ahead and that can do many good things in the future.”
In the match for the third place, the team of the City of Belgrade defeated the pioneers of Čelik with 7:1 in Zenica, while in Doboj-Kakanj, in the match for the fifth place, Albania was better than the joint team of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, winning with 2:0.
Matej Deket was declared the best player of the tournament. Cups and medals were presented to the participants of the memorial by Muris Jabandžić, the member of the BH FF Executive Board, the acting general secretary Adnan Džemidžić and the widow of the late Škija, Jasna Katalinski.
