BH U-17 national team played tie with Ukraine

The U-17 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina drew today in the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica 1:1 with the corresponding team of Ukraine in the third-round match of Group 2 of the elite qualifying round for the European Championship.

The Ukrainians were the first to threaten in the 3rd minute, when Davyd Bilyi shot diagonally from the right side, but Adel Duškaj saved his shot. Nedim Jusufbegović’s chosen team responded in the 8th minute, when Dušan Petrović sent the ball over the goal from a distance. Din Ammar Avdić had an attempt from about 18 meters in the 20th minute, and his shot was stopped by the goalkeeper of Ukraine Markijan Bakus. Avdić had another good attempt diagonally from the left side in the 37th minute, but Bakus was again up to the task.

In the second half, there were no opportunities until the 66th minute, when the Ukrainians took the lead. Vladyslav Kalyn from the left side sent the ball to the second post where Kyrylo Pashko did his best and scored a goal.

The BH national team threatened in the 77th minute. Adrijano Rizvić took a corner kick from the right side, and the ball came to the left side to Marko Brekalo, whose shot was not accurate.

Our national team performed an excellent action in the 81st minute, when Vedad Garčević sent the ball to Brekalo, who shot accurately from the edge of the penalty area and equalized the score.

The following players performed for Bosnia and Herzegovina: Adel Duškaj, Bego Kurjaković, Nidal Čelik, Sergej Popović, Jusuf Terzić (55th, Harun Sadžak), Adrijano Rizvić, Roko Šilić, Din Ammar Avdić (73rd, Marko Brekalo), Dušan Petrović (73rd, Emir Dugić), Dženan Šabić (55th, Vedad Garčević), Zlatan Zeničanin (55th, Aleksa Popović).

In the second match of the group, Azerbaijan beat Liechtenstein with a convincing 8:0 in Doboj near Kakanj.

The national teams of Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the tournament with 7 points each, and achieved a qualification for the elite qualifying round. Azerbaijan is third with 3, while Liechtenstein finished the qualification without points.
