BH young national team celebrated after the turnaround

The U-21 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated the national team of Montenegro with 2:1 today at the Grbavica Stadium in Sarajevo.

In the first half, the game took place between two penalty areas, without too many opportunities. Only in the 42nd minute, the guests gained an advantage by Nikola Krstović.

In the continuation, Slobodan Starčević’s team played better and managed to reverse the result. Amar Memić scored a goal in the 61st minute and, in the additional time, Milan Savić brought victory to the BH team.

At the end of the match, the head coach Slobodan Starčević said:

“In the first half, we did not play the way we wanted and should. In the second part, we changed the rhythm and the way of playing with the substitutes, so we were rewarded in the additional time. This is an important victory for us and I am glad that we ended the year with a positive result. The guys worked hard and I’m happy for them.”

The scorer of the winning goal, Milan Savić, stated:

“We managed to rise after the defeat against Sweden and we were very motivated today. We showed the characters we all played a good match. We did not give up even after we were losing and, in the end, we managed to reach a result that made us all happy.”

The young national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue the qualifications on 25th March with a home match against Luxembourg.
