BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA SECOND-RANKED IN THE DEVELOPMENT TOURNAMENT

The U-16 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won Montenegro with 3:2 in Zenica today in the third round of the UEFA Development Tournament.

This victory was enough for our team for the second place in the tournament.

The BH team came to advantage in the 6th minute. Dino Nuhanović threw the ball from the right into the opponent’s penalty area, and the Montenegro player Ljubomir Pejović turned it into his own net.

Montenegrins threatened in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper Luka Damjanović stopped a shot of Lazar Mijović from a distance of ten meters.

A minute later, Nuhanović tried from the right side, but the defenders of Montenegro blocked his shot.

The advantage of the BH team was doubled in the 33rd minute. After an action, Arif Ramić kicked the ball by head down into the penalty area to Dino Nuhanović, who hit for 2:0.

Eldin Rastoder missed a good chance for Montenegro in the 35th minute, when he, from the distance of about 10 meters, undisturbedly sent the ball near the goal.

Montenegro reduced the advantage of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 43rd minute. Ognjen Bakić performed a free kick from the right side, Kristijan Ernec coped the best in the crowd in the penalty area and sent the ball behind the back of Damjanović.

After a centre-shot from the left side in the 55th minute, Ognjen Bakić equalized the score.

Nuhanović went well on the right side in the 67th minute and hit the crossbar of Montenegro.

Dino Nuhanović hit for 3:2 in the 76th minute. Ivan Grgić centred from the left, the goalkeeper of Montenegro Nikola Ivezić bounced the ball shortly to Nuhanović, who scored a goal.

At the end of the match, the head coach Adin Mulaosmanović stated:

“As for today's game, we must be satisfied. There was a desire of our boys to win and they deservedly reached it in the end. We had some luck, because, after 2:0 in the first 40 minutes, we quickly received two goals in the second half. After that, we played under a certain pressure, but we managed to score a third goal and deservedly won.”

Mulaosmanović is pleased with a performance in the tournament:

“The tournament served its purpose. We played three quality matches and saw all the players we have at this moment available. In the upcoming period we will have more matches and we will check more potential national players. There is plenty of work ahead of us, but we will be ready to meet qualifications.”

In the second match of the tournament, Armenia beat Gibraltar with 2:0 this morning.

Armenia finished the tournament in the first place with 7 points, as well as the second-placed Bosnia and Herzegovina. The third is Montenegro with 4 points and Gibraltar is fourth with 0.
