Yesterday, Slobodan Starčević’s team did one training session at the FK Sarajevo TC in Butmir, and this morning, even the heavy rain that fell in Sarajevo did not prevent them from doing everything that the technical staff had planned.
Midfielder Igor Savić says about the preparations:
“We gathered on Sunday in Sarajevo and the preparations are going great for now. We have done 2 training sessions and we are preparing for the match with Ireland. There are a lot of new guys in the team, they fit in quickly and the atmosphere is great. Our next opponent is of very high quality and we know that a demanding match awaits us. We will prepare well and analyse them. We hope to win at the end of the qualifiers.”
Former junior national team goalkeeper, Luka Damjanović, who expects to win the next match, also received an invitation to the U-21 national team:
“We are slowly getting to know the work in the U-21 national team and what the head coach is asking of us, because a lot of us came from the U-19 national team after a great result in the elite qualifying round in France. The atmosphere in the team is great and everyone is full of desire to prove himself. We have enough time to prepare for a difficult match against a quality opponent. They are fighting for a place in the EURO, but we will do everything to spoil it for them. We will go for the victory as always, and we hope for a positive result.”
The Young Dragons will do another training session in Butmir today.
