The players of the Italian young national team took the full booty from Zenica

The U-21 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated today at the “Bilino Polje” in Zenica by Italy with 1:2 in the qualifying match for the EURO 2023.

There were no opportunities at the opening of the match, and the guests gained the advantage in the 19th minute. Sandro Tonali took the corner kick from the right side and Caleb Okoli headed the ball into the net from the five-meter area.

The guests also scored the second goal from the corner kick in the 27th minute. Tonali crossed from the left corner this time, and Emanuel Vignato was left alone on the opposite post and doubled the advantage with a strong and precise shot.

The best opportunity in the first half had the BH team in 28th minute. Goalkeeper Stefano Turati made an error in passing, Anes Mašić interrupted his pass and shot, but Matteo Lovato threw the ball into the corner from the goal line.

Slobodan Starčević’s team had the opportunity in the 73rd minute to reduce the opponent’s advantage. Enver Kulašin fought well for the shot position, but Turati bounced the ball into the corner.

Our young national team players reached the goal in the 80th minute. Adrian Leon Barišić shot hard from the edge of the penalty area and sent the ball under the crossbar for 1:2.

In the 3rd minute of the additional time, Amar Dedić shot strongly from over 20 meters, but Turati once again intervened excellently and bounced the ball into the corner. After the shot from the corner, the ball once again reached Dedić, whose shot was blocked this time and the match ended with the victory of Italy 1:2.
