The U-18 national team defeated by Slovakia

The U-18 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated today in a friendly match in Zenica by the appropriate team of Slovakia with 0:1.

The visitors came to the advantage in the 22nd minute from the first opportunity in the match. Roman Čerepkai came through well on the left side and sent the ball to the five-meter area, and Gabriel Horniyak forwarded it in the net for 0:1.

The BH team answered in the 26th minute, when Andrija Drljo sent a ball by head over the goal after a pass from Nikša Šilić. Drljo tried from the asquint left in the 30th minute too, but the goalkeeper Belko Lubos stopped his shot.

The guests also had a chance through Stanislav Oleynik, who sent the ball 15 meters from the left over the goal.

In the second half too, the Slovaks were the first to threaten. Juraj Lacko entered the penalty area of the BH team on the right in the 53rd minute, but his shot from a favourable position was not accurate.

Silvio Ilinković responded in the 58th minute, when he shot from the edge of the penalty area over the crossbar.

B&H had a good opportunity in the 63rd minute. Drljo sent the ball to the left side of the opponent’s penalty area toward Ilinković, whose shot was rejected by Luboš into the field. As the action continued, the ball was bounced to Drljo, but his shot was also blocked.

In the 62nd minute, Sebastian Nebyla made a strong free-kick from about 20 meters and only hit outside the net.

By the end of the match, the players of both teams tried from distance several times, but were not precise.

At the end of the match, the head coach Slaven Musa stated:

“When we look at the result, of course we cannot be satisfied. However, it was an equal match where we too had our chances. Perhaps the most realistic would be that the match ended in a draw, but the Slovaks turned out to be a little more playful than us. The guys have nothing to be blamed for, they fought. It’s a pity we didn’t manage to score, but we have another match in two days and I believe it will be better.”

B&H and Slovakia will play again at the Training Camp on 26th September at 11:00 h.
