The young national team players of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered

The U-21 national team players of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered today at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica and thus began preparations for qualifying matches with the Republic of Ireland and Sweden.

The head coach Slobodan Starčević says about the upcoming matches:

“I am glad that all the invited players came with good energy and we will use this period to prepare for the two extremely demanding matches that await us. I am sure that there is enough quality in this team to play two good matches and reach a positive result. We analysed the opponents and they are great teams, composed of players who play in strong European leagues. We are aware that it will be demanding, but we showed before that we knew how to deal with strong opponents, so we hope for good results.”

Midfielder Andrej Đokanović stated:

“We have just gathered and it is certain that the head coach and his technical staff will acquaint us more closely with our opponents during the preparations. We want to show ourselves in the best light and achieve good results. This is a new team, but we fit in quickly and we are ready to respond to the tasks ahead of us in the best way.”

Winger Milan Savić also wants points in the upcoming matches:

“We are currently focused on Ireland and expect to win. In the first round against Montenegro, we did not achieve the desired goal, which was three points. I hope that in the next matches we will correct that and win more points. We played with Ireland while we were in the youth national teams and we know that it is a physically well-prepared national team, but we will also prepare properly and I expect a victory.”

Matches with the Republic of Ireland and Sweden will be played at the Training Centre in Zenica on 3rd and 7th September.
