FFBiH General Secretary Adnan Džemidžić gave a speech on this occasion: "We gathered here today to honor one of the greatest footballers our country has ever had – Josip Katalinski-Škija. His contribution to football isn't just measured by his goals and wins, but also by his selfless love for the game and the sportsmanship he spread all around him. He was a man whose charisma and integrity left a lasting mark on all of us. His dedication to football and sports remains an example for all future generations. Today, at the start of the 12th Memorial Tournament that bears his name, we remember Škija with deep respect and gratitude. This tournament is a way to remember his legacy and continue his mission of promoting sports, friendship, and mutual respect."

Besides FFBiH representatives, the late Škija’s wife Jasna Katalinski, and delegations from the Montenegro FA, the City of Belgrade FA, and the Sarajevo Canton FA were present.

The tournament begins today at the FFBiH Training Center in Zenica at 3:00 PM.
