Nermin Šabić’s team first drew with Romania 0:0 in the group, then they were defeated by Zambia with 2:1, and in the third round a convincing 6:0 triumph was achieved over Northern Macedonia.
Given that no match was played in Group B between Zambia and Northern Macedonia, the ranking was determined by calculating the average points scored per game, and in the end the ranking was as follows: Romania 7 (2.33), Zambia 3 (1.5) , B&H 4 (1.33), Northern Macedonia 0 (0).
Yesterday, the BH cadets played a match with Bulgaria for the 5th place, when they achieved a 2:1 victory. Goals for our team were scored by David Čamber and Ante Prusina.
About the performance at the tournament, the head coach Šabić said:
“This tournament was good for us, to which we gave all invited players a playing time. We can be satisfied with the game, except in the match against Zambia. The final ranking in the end does not look ideal, but the commitment was not lacking. If we take into account that we were defeated twice by the Macedonians at the beginning of the year, and now we beat them with 6:0, it is evident that the team showed some progress. We are on an upward trajectory and I hope that we will be at the highest level when the qualifications come, and that we will maintain the continuity of good results of the cadet national team.”
In the match with Bulgaria, the following players performed for the BH U-16 national team: Arman Šutković, Ferid Šerbečić, Halil Kolenda, Bakir Nurković, Salih Hadžić, Sergej Damjanić, David Čamber, Ante Prusina, Kenan Lamadžema, Savo Šušić, Amar Zahirović. U igru su ulazili: Faris Husić, Đanis Gosto, Ali Pašić, Marko Kozina, Talha Tabaković, Marko Brkić, Vedad Jakupović.
