Our U-21 national team players trained at the TC FK Sarajevo in Butmir.
Head coach Igor Janković stated at the beginning of the preparations:
“We used these dates to schedule two quality checks, where we will be able to see the current state of our national team players. In the coming period, we will try to expand the team with some more players from abroad. Here are the guys born in 2002 and 2003. These are quality players and I hope that we will produce good results in the coming period.”
The national team player Ivan Bašić promises the team’s maximum commitment:
“These are our first preparations with a new generation of players and a new head coach. The friendly matches that are ahead of us will be an excellent preparation for the upcoming qualifiers and an opportunity to get to know each other as well as possible. Although these are friendly matches, we want to achieve victories and I am sure that we will present ourselves in the best light.”
Midfielder Silvio Ilinković says:
“We came here to prepare as well as possible for the upcoming two matches, but also for the most important one, which is the qualification for the European Championship. The atmosphere in the team is excellent and we all look forward to coming to national team’s gatherings. I hope that in the coming period we will show quality and I believe that this generation can achieve excellent results.”
On 23rd September, the Young Dragons will host Switzerland at the “Grbavica”, while three days later they play away in Slovenia.
