Dragonesses Unsuccessful In Match Against Northern Ireland

The Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national "A" football team was defeated by Northern Ireland with a score of 1:3 today in the second round match of Group B3 qualifiers for Euro 2025.

The match took place in front of about 500 spectators at the FFBiH Training Center in Zenica, and our team had the first chance as early as the 2nd minute. Emina Ekić crossed from the right side, however Maja Jelčić failed to connect with the ball, and it ended up in the hands of goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns.

In the 27th minute, Ekić entered the opponent's penalty area and took a shot from an angle on the right side, but Burns deflected the ball for a corner kick. Minela Gačanica attempted a long-range shot in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the goal.

The guests took the lead in the 54th minute. Keri Halliday sent the ball into the penalty area for Nadane Caldwell, who scored accurately for 0:1. Just two minutes later, the Dragonesses equalized; Gačanica made a run down the left side and provided a precise cross to Marija Ana Milinković, who scored from about ten meters out for 1:1. In the second half, Northern Ireland regained the lead via Megan Bell in the 60th minute, and Simone Magill scored the third goal in the 68th minute.

The Dragonesses' next qualifying match is scheduled for May 31st against Malta away.
