The profession points out that the national team of Sweden is the toughest possible opponent that the BH team could draw, and head coach Samira Hurem commented on the draw:
“The fact that we are playing with one of the best national teams in Europe and the world speaks of the difficulty, but also of the importance of the match itself for women’s football in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our team played very well in the Nations League and those good performances brought us to this situation. Staying in League B alone is a significant result for us, but the play-off is even more significant and represents a step forward in the promotion of women’s football in our country”, says Hurem and adds:
“If we want to play in the European Championship, we have to know where we are right now and what we need to work on, and the two matches with Sweden will show us that. I am happy that we are playing the first match at home, because we need the support of our fans, and that will encourage our players to play as well as possible and raise their confidence for the second leg.”
She-Dragons won the play-off by winning second place in Group B of League 4 behind the Czech Republic and ahead of Slovenia and Belarus. Sweden finished third in group A4, behind Spain and Italy, and ahead of Switzerland.
