We Have the Quality and We Believe In a Good Result

An official press conference for the Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national "A" football team was held today at the FFBiH Training Center in Zenica, ahead of the match against Serbia.

Head coach Selver Hodžić, along with players Milena Nikolić and Melisa Hasanbegović, answered reporters' questions.

Selver Hodžić stated: "Since we gathered, we've been focusing on preparing the players and working on tactics. We've thoroughly analyzed Serbia's team. We aim to implement our vision of play. I'm pleased with the training sessions; the players have shown great energy, and we're ready for the match."

Apart from players who weren't called up due to injuries, such as Marija Aleksić and Minela Gačanica, and Amela Kršo who has retired from international football, the coach confirmed that they won't be able to count on Elma Smajić due to illness, nor on Ena Šabanagić, who is suspended for yellow cards from previous matches.

Captain Milena Nikolić spoke about the upcoming opponent: "Serbia is one of the strongest teams in our region, investing heavily in the development of women's football and their national team. They have excellent individuals who play in top clubs. Tradition is also on their side, but all our matches against them have been tight, except the last one. We have the quality as well, and I believe we can win tomorrow and in the return leg."

Nikolić added: "Unfortunately, Marija Aleksić has a serious injury, and I wish her a speedy recovery. Amela Kršo, who has retired from the national team, will be greatly missed, and I wish her all the best in life and professional career."

Melisa Hasanbegović expects a good match: "Our vision is to replicate the solid performance we showed against Portugal. We know each other well, and how we start in the first 20 minutes tomorrow will be very important, for both them and us. We have similar mentalities, and our playing styles are alike. I hope we'll win tomorrow and achieve a result that gives us a good headstart for the return leg in Stara Pazova."
