After the morning training session, the team held its first media activity today, where coach Selver Hodžić and players Mejrema Medić and Maja Hrelja addressed journalists.
Hodžić stated: "We've analyzed our performances from the last campaign, and we're satisfied with the approach. We did a lot of good things, but there are areas we need to improve. The key is preparing well for the first game. Romania is a good team, but they have certain weaknesses we’ll try to exploit. It’s important to transfer our energy onto the pitch, and I believe the fans will recognize that. Playing at home is our advantage, and I hope we’ll have strong support, just like in our last match against Serbia. That support really gave us the extra push to deliver a great performance."
On player availability, Hodžić added: "Unfortunately, Ena Šabanagić is injured, so we won’t be able to count on her. Milena Nikolić also has an injury concern, but she should be ready in time for the match."
On the upcoming opponents, Hodžić said: "Romania has a strong team, and we know Northern Ireland very well, having played them last year. We’ve also analyzed them and we have to be well-prepared both tactically and physically to meet the challenge. With good organization, we can achieve our goals."
Maja Hrelja: "It’s been a long time since we were last together, so we’re happy to be here. The team atmosphere is great, and with the new year comes new energy. With each camp, our connection on and off the pitch gets better. I hope we take full advantage of playing at home, secure three points against Romania, and start this campaign in the best possible way."
Mejrema Medić: "Our goal is to win six points from these two matches, but that depends on us. We’ve arrived in good physical condition, and I hope that will show in the matches as we look to begin the new Nations League cycle in the best way possible."
