The visitors took the lead in the 23' via experienced striker Simone Magill, but our team responded quickly, with Sofija Krajšumović equalizing in the 29' after an assist from Gloria Slišković.
In the other group match, Poland secured a 3:0 victory over Romania. Bosnia and Herzegovina finished third in the group with 5 points, behind Poland (16) and Northern Ireland (8), but ahead of Romania (4).
Head coach Selver Hodžić reflected on the match: "We played a solid game with young players who had only a few appearances before. I think the girls gave their best on the pitch and deserved the point. We hoped for a win but couldn’t quite manage it."
The team didn't qualify for the relegation playoff to stay in League B and, as one of the two lowest-ranked third-placed teams, was relegated to League C along with the four bottom-placed teams.
Despite the outcome, Hodžić emphasized the long-term plan to build the team: "We’ve got young players. Una Rankić proved she's someone we can count on; she delivered two fantastic performances. Let’s not forget Samra Muhić, who came up from the WU-19 team and did great at left-back. We can be proud of these girls and those already in the starting lineup."
Sofija Krajšumović, who scored the only goal for BiH in this match, said: "It was a tough match. We gave everything, left our hearts on the field, and proved we can compete against stronger teams, at least on paper. Scoring again is an honor, another goal added to my list, but I couldn’t have done it without my teammates who keep pushing and supporting me. Congratulations to the whole team for the fight and effort."
Krajšumović briefly reflected on the Nations League campaign: "We made mistakes, but we also had good moments. That loss to Romania shouldn’t have happened. Perhaps we were too relaxed after winning 4:0 in the first leg, but even that match wasn’t easy. In the end, we could’ve done better in the group, but it’s all valuable experience."
