BH female juniors led, Belgians reverses the result

The women’s U-19 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated today in the Ethno Village of Stanišići by an appropriate team of Belgium with 1:3 in the first round of the qualifying Group 10 for EURO 2020.

An equal play was seen in the first half, when both teams created and used one chance at a time.

Speedy Sofija Krajšumović took a ball of the Belgian goalkeeper in the 29th minute and passed it into the unguarded net for 1:0.

The Belgians made a tie score in the second minute of the additional time of the first period of play. Fran Meersman centred from a free kick from the right and the captain Sari Kees sent the ball by head from five meters behind the goalkeeper, Indira Faković.

Belgium opened the second half better. In the 55th minute, from twenty meters , Karlijn Knapen scored a goal from a free kick for 1:2.

Elma Husić tried from a distance in the 65th minute, but Josephine Delvaux stopped her shot.

The Belgians scored the third goal on the 68th minute. Meersman threw from the corner, and Knapen scored a goal by head.

Ajla Zukić entered the opponent’s penalty area in the 87th minute, where Marith De Bondt stopped her by the foul, so penalty kick for the BH team was awarded. The penalty kick was taken by Đula Velagić, but she hit a goalpost and 1:3 remained.

The match was also watched by the FF BH General Secretary Adnan Džemidžić with his associates Elmir Pilav and Jasmin Baković.

In the second match of the group Sweden defeated Armenia by 14:0.

The second round matches will be played in the Ethno Village of Stanišići on 5th October. The Belgium-Armenia match will start at 11:00 h and Sweden-Bosnia and Herzegovina at 15:30 h.
