BH U-16 national team winner of the development tournament

The women’s U-16 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved its third victory in the third-round match of the UEFA development tournament, which is being held in our country.

After the triumph against Northern Macedonia and the Faroe Islands, Ilija Lucić’s team celebrated today at the BH FF Training Centre in Zenica against Slovenia with the result 3:0.

Ajla Građan, in the 16th minute, shot great from over twenty meters from the left side and hit the net for 1:0. In the 24th minute, Nina Pupić passed excellently on the right side and sent the ball into the opponent’s penalty area, and the Slovenian player Ajda Zajc reacted clumsily and turned the ball into her own net.

Ivona Radošević lobbed the goalkeeper of Slovenia in the 74th minute from ten meters and scored the third goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the match, the head coach Ilija Lucić stated:

“We can be satisfied with what was shown at this tournament and we deservedly won first place. This generation has shown that it is talented. The players were at the level during the entire tournament and took their obligations seriously. Of course, we still have a lot of work to do to prepare this team for the next qualifications.”

In the second match of the group, Northern Macedonia and the Faroe Islands played a draw 3:3 in Doboj Kakanj. According to the rules of the UEFA development tournaments, the penalty shootout started, where the Faroes did better and won 2 points.

Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the tournament with a maximum of 9 points ahead of Slovenia, which won 6, the Faroe Islands with 2 and Northern Macedonia with 1 point.
