Preparations for the European Championship are underway. What are your expectations from this gathering and what will be the main focus in the coming days?
Main focus during these final preparation days ahead of the European Championship is to prepare as thoroughly as possible for our first opponent, Germany. Our goal is for the team to be as united and motivated as possible, and those are exactly the areas we're working on every day.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the final tournament of the Women's Under-19 European Championship. How significant is this for this generation and for women's football in our country?
I believe this is one of the most significant moments for women's football in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the second time, we have the opportunity to host this major competition, and we're aware that it brings the attention women's football deserves. I'm especially happy that our girls will experience everything that comes with a European Championship, and I'm certain they'll give their best so that women's football remains visible and continues to grow even after this tournament.
During the preparation period, you also played friendly matches against Slovenia. How much did those games help you gain a clearer picture of the team ahead of the Euro?
The friendly games against Slovenia were of great importance to us. Since Slovenia plays in a system used by many major national teams, we had the opportunity to work on adapting to and facing different formations, which represents a certain challenge for us. The victory we achieved gave us the additional confidence we needed.
The group Bosnia and Herzegovina is in is very demanding. How do you view the upcoming duels against Germany, Sweden, and Poland?
The group is certainly demanding, but that's precisely what gives us the opportunity to see where we currently stand and motivates us even more to give our maximum. It's a special feeling to play against national teams that have won the European Championship multiple times. Our position is clear – we didn't come just to participate, we came to compete.
What do you consider to be the greatest quality of this generation of football players?
What defines this generation is the maturity the girls show when it's needed most, as well as the tremendous desire and unity they have whenever they put on the Bosnia and Herzegovina jersey.
You often emphasize team spirit and unity. How much can the atmosphere within the team be one of the key factors for success at the tournament?
I believe the atmosphere can bring a lot, and our national "A" football team players showed us that as well, because together with the coaching staff and thanks to their team spirit, they achieved results that are an inspiration to all of us.
What message would you send to the fans ahead of the tournament and how much will support from the stands mean to our team?
I'd like our fans to recognize just how special this moment is and enjoy it together with us. Their support will mean a lot to us, and our girls deserve the opportunity to try, together with their fellow citizens, to write new pages in the history of Bosnian football.
