Victory of female seniors

Tie result with Serbia

Today, the cadet national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina played tie 2:2 with their peers from Serbia in a match hold at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.

Although several senior players, who have qualified for the elite qualifying round this season, played in the Serbian squad, the chosen ones of Ilija Lucić successfully played well with them and achieved a draw.

BH cadets came to advantage in the 17th minute. Marija Ana Milinković shot from the left side of the opponent’s penalty area and hit the opposite corner for 1:0.

The visitors tied the game in the 25th minute, when Mina Čavić from 15 meters sent a ball behind the back of Anamarija Prljević.

The same player brought a turn to Serbia with a goal from the penalty shot in the 29th minute.

In the second half, both teams created several opportunities and the best one was not used by Milinković in the 62nd minute. The BH attacker ran a counter attack and came out in front of the Serbian goalkeeper asquint from the right, but her attempt was turned to the corner by Katarina Anestić.

The team of Bosnia and Herzegovina also scored its second goal from the penalty kick, when Maja Jelčić was precise in the 68th minute.

In the 71st minute, Jelčić shot strongly from around 17 meters, but hit the crossbar.

At the end of the match, head coach Ilija Lucić stated:

“We cannot be completely satisfied with the game, but I congratulate the players on their efforts. They were combative. Congratulations to the Serbian team on the good game. Their team is slightly older, they have 9 players born in 2003 and I hope they will make a good result in the elite qualifying round. We are preparing our team for next qualifications and these tests were very useful to us.”

The second match of these teams will be played at the Zenica Training Camp on 28th February at 11:00 h.
