In the first half, the Norwegians took advantage of their opportunities and went into halftime with a two-goal lead. Nikolina Todorić's net was hit by Hedda Meyer (7') and Mari Vik (13'). After the break, Meyer scored an own goal in the 15th minute, but Mali Halginset restored Norway's two-goal lead in the 19th. Towards the end, the BiH team pushed for an equalizer, but managed to reduce the deficit just 10 seconds before the final whistle via penalty scored by captain Nikolina Vujadin.
After the match, player Merima Alibašić said: "I'm disappointed with the result because I believe we could've won this match. We had good chances and should've achieved a better outcome. Now we have a third-round match against Hungary ahead, where we'll give our best and try to secure a victory."
In the other group match, Hungary defeated Belarus 6:0. Hungary now leads the group with 6 points, followed by Norway and Bosnia and Herzegovina who have 3 points each, while Belarus has none.
The third round is scheduled for October 19 at the same venue. Our team will face Hungary at 16:00, while the Norway-Belarus game will be played at 20:00. Only the group winner will advance to the elite round of the qualifiers.
