For the first time, FK Željezničar player Emir Mustafić is on the roster. Head coach Goran Melher recently described him as one of the country’s most talented young players.
“The coach’s words meant a lot to me. At the same time, they bring responsibility and motivation to keep working even harder. I want to justify the trust placed in me and become a regular member of the senior national team. I believe this experience will be very important and valuable for my performances with the under-19 team because our Euro qualifiers start in March.”
The young Mustafić speaks with emotion about what it means to wear the national team jersey: “It's an incredible honor to wear my country’s badge. Just training with these players is a big deal for me, and if I get a chance to play, it’ll be a dream come true and nothing can compare to that.”
When asked which player inspires him most, both on and off the court, he quickly pointed to national team captain Srđan Ivanković: “I admire his style of play and quick thinking, how he makes decisions on the court, and his dedication.”
Finally, the young player emphasized that while playing football is his favorite part of training, he knows that talent alone isn’t enough for success. He plans to keep improving every aspect of his game, aiming for major achievements both at the club and national team level.
