Head coach Goran Melher and captain Srđan Ivanković addressed the press.
The team faces a major challenge, needing to overturn a 2:7 deficit from the first game, and coach Melher believes the team’s ready to give its best: "We had a bad day in Belgium, but that’s sport and these things happen. We’ve worked to recover the team over the past few days after the match, because it was a shock for the players. We tried to lift them through talks and analysis. I believe we’ve succeeded and that we’re ready for tomorrow’s match. Futsal’s a sport where things can change every second. So we all believe that with an early goal and solid defense, we can make up the deficit. I believe in the team and I still think we can get the result we want."
Ivanković said: "This is a kind of test not just for us, but for everyone who follows us. It’s tough for us, and understandably tough for the fans. We still have a strong desire to succeed. We’ve worked in recent days to lift ourselves mentally and we’ve regained belief. We know we’ll have support here in Zenica and anything’s possible. Sometimes in sport, failure’s needed to learn and change something. It’ll be hard, but we believe we can pull off something big. With the crowd behind us, we still believe we can reach the Euro. We’ll see tomorrow after the match, whatever the result, we move forward. But I can promise the team will give everything."
BiH vs. Belgium match will be played tomorrow, September 24 at 20:00 at the Husejin Smajlović sports arena in Zenica. Entry is free, and the match will be broadcast live on Arena Sport TV.
