Recognitions for Radmilović and Galić

The long-term captain of the futsal national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anel Radmilović, and the goalkeeper Stanislav Galić made the decision to say goodbye to the jersey with the national coat of arms after the European Championship.

The national team career of these two has lasted for 11 years, and with their commitment and attitude towards their favourite jersey, they left an indelible mark in our futsal team.

During their career, they, with the national team, were twice stopped in the play-off for the European Championship. However, after last year’s excellent qualifications, in which Radmilović and Galić played an important role in the team led by Ivo Krezo from the bench, they will now have the opportunity to finally perform in the big competition.

On the occasion of their farewell, the BH FF General Secretary, Adnan Džemidžić, presented Radmilović and Galić with framed jerseys with the number of appearances in the futsal team before tonight’s training session.

Anel Radmilovic, who played 66 matches for the national team, said:

“I spent the best years of my career in the national team jersey, and now the moment has come when I made the most difficult decision since I have been playing this sport. As a captain with this team, I managed to qualify for the European Championship, and that is the crown of my career. Now I leave it to some younger guys to have an equally successful national team career. I would like to thank everyone who has been there with the national team in these 11 years. I hope that with good performances and results at the EURO I will make this farewell even more beautiful.”

Stanislav Galić stood between the goal-posts 63 times in the national team jersey and said goodbye to his favourite jersey with a lot of emotion:

“The greatest honour for an athlete is playing for the national team and there were many moments that I will remember, especially the beautiful ones. It was very difficult on several occasions, especially when we ran out of EUROs through the play-offs. However, everything came back to us in these qualifiers and we will finally perform in a big competition. I am sure that we will not only be passers-by in the Netherlands, but that we will make a good result, and the commitment and effort of all of us will not be lacking. I would like to thank all the head coaches, assistant coaches, doctors, physiotherapists, kit managers and all those without whom this national team would not be what it is. They all left a big mark on my career.”

The Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation of would like to thank Anel Radmilović and Stanislav Galić for everything they have done in the jersey with the national emblem, and wish them to once again delight the nation with great games at the upcoming European Championship.
