U-19 futsal juniors defeated in a friendly match

The U-19 junior futsal national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated tonight in the hall of the Hills Hotel in Ilidža by France with 0:7, in the first of two scheduled friendly matches.

Due to positive cases of the coronavirus in the technical staff of the BH national team, the team was led from the bench by coaches Marko Brčić and Antonio Vidović.

The guests entered the match more offensively and came to the advantage in the 9th minute. Baptiste Jeger passed from the left side, and his shot Mathis Gazengel turned by his head into the net of the BH team for 0:1. By the end of the first half, the French had several more attempts from a distance, and the closest to scoring was Amin Benslema when he hit the crossbar. The BH team threatened more seriously only once when Edis Sušić took the ball away from the opponents and shot diagonally from the right side, but the ball went besides the goal.

France doubled its advantage in the 24th minute, and the scorer was Imani Mitsachioi Abdou from the penalty kick. The penalty kick was preceded by a foul of Faruk Brkanić over Benslem in the six-meter area of the BH team.

In the 27th minute, Roberto Gažo came out alone in front of the French goalkeeper Thibaut Garros, who defended the shot of the BH national team player.

The guests scored the third goal in the 34th minute. After one shot from a distance, the ball bounced off the post to Jeger, who passed it behind Antonio Pehar.

In the 37th minute, Ibrahima Nikate sent the ball from the right into the six-meter area of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Tristan Vandenplast, who was accurate for 0:4.

French captain Leo Faytre took the ball away from the BH futsal players in the 38th minute and employed Mitsachioi Abdoua who scored another goal for the guests.

In the 39th minute, the French scored two more goals through Sofiane Alla and Jeger for the final 0:7.

After the match, goalkeeper coach Antonio Vidović stated:

“This is our first gathering with this generation and it was felt tonight. These guys are just getting to know each other, while the opponent has more matches and is much more coordinated. Still, we parried while we had the strength. Another match is ahead and we will try to correct the mistakes we made tonight.”

B&H and France will play another match in Ilidža tomorrow at 17:30 h.
