“We achieved a convincing victory even though we were a little afraid of the first match, not because of the quality of Cyprus, but due to the fact that our team has changed a lot compared to past qualifications. This was the first match with this squad. Half of the team consists of players who performed in December at the Poreč tournament, and the other half are players who have been in the national team for a longer period. For that reason, we saw a bit of a lack of play, but nonetheless, we were in control of the whole match and could be satisfied. We scored 8 goals and we deservedly celebrated”, says Mulahmetović.
This young expert expects to win tonight’s match:
“We are absolute favourites against all the teams in the group, and so against Gibraltar tonight. They are certainly outsiders in this tournament and anything but our victory would be a huge surprise. Players, on the other hand, must also take tonight’s match seriously in order to continue to record victories.”
In addition to engaging in the “A” and U-19 futsal national teams, Nijaz Mulahmetović was also appointed for the first head coach of the newly formed women’s futsal national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina:
“Considering that the women’s futsal team is something new and is only in the formation phase, we have a lot of work to do. It is my honour and pleasure to be a head coach of a national team and I will do my best to do that. I know it will be difficult, because there is no women’s futsal league with us, so we will invite female players who play football. There will be plenty of tournaments and team’s gatherings, and we hope that we will form a team of the best players at our disposal until the first qualifications.”
