As part of the preparations for the qualifications. The BH national team players played a friendly match with the Slovenian national team last month, when they achieved two victories.
The second national team action of our national team is underway in Zenica, where the futsal She-Dragons have been training since Friday.
Head coach Nijaz Mulahmetović says about this gathering:
“We are missing a few players, so we have problems again. Regardless, we managed to make some skeleton of the team that will most likely travel to Moldova for the qualifying tournament. Unfortunately, the term of qualifications coincides with the term of the Women’s Champions League, so we will not be able to count on the players from SFK 2000 Sarajevo, and we all know what that club represents in our women’s football. It is a team with a lot of quality players and we will miss them in the qualifications. On the other hand, there are some new girls compared to the last gathering, so we got some breadth with that. We hope to form a respectable team for our first qualifiers.”
Opponents of the BH team in the qualifiers will be Moldova, the Netherlands and Armenia.
“It is difficult to get information about the opponents, but it is also difficult for them to get information about us, because the first qualifications and the first official matches await us. We can only conclude based on the rating that the Netherlands is the favourite in our group. We are playing the first match against them. We watched some of their matches, but that was in the period before the corona. A lot of time has passed since then and we can’t know what exactly awaits us. We will focus on our team. I believe that we have a certain quality and it is certain that we will not go to Moldova as tourists, but we will try to make a result that would take us to the second round of qualifications”, says Mulahmetović.
National team player Nikolina Vujadin emphasizes the positive atmosphere at the national team’s preparations:
“After almost a month, we are together again. The atmosphere is really great and we are all happy to be at this gathering again. In Zenica, we try to adequately prepare for what awaits us, and that is the qualifications. Sure, difficult matches await us, but I believe in this team.”
Vujadin also referred to the two matches with Slovenia:
“Considering that these were the first two matches in the history of the women’s futsal national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was certainly a great moment for us and we are very proud to be a part of all this. Both duels gave us a lot of confidence for the next period. Of course, everyone who plays for the national team has a great responsibility, but at the same time it is an honour and a pride. We are motivated to show ourselves in the best light in the qualifications.”
The most efficient player in the matches with Slovenia, Branka Bagarić, also commented on the preparations of the futsal national team:
“Those two friendly matches showed that we have a lot of quality, so we all hope that we will achieve good results in the qualifications as well. Although this is a new national team, we know each other from before, because most of us play big football. That helped us to play faster, and the atmosphere at the gathering is at a high level. These preparations will serve us well before the qualifications in which we expect to be successful.”
