UEFA Playmakers

Mostar has recently expanded its participation in the UEFA Playmakers program by including new schools, kindergartens, and coaches in this international project aimed at girls aged 5 to 8.

The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted John Ackerley, mentor of the UEFA Playmakers project, in Trebinje today. At the same time, training sessions for the first cycle of the program’s third season are underway. This initiative, resulting from cooperation between UEFA and Disney, is implemented by the FFBiH to promote and develop women's football.

On Thursday, another event as part of Grassroots Week was held in the Miloš Mrdić sports hall in Trebinje, organized by the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation, together with UEFA and Disney, is starting the UEFA Playmakers program, which is intended for girls aged five to eight, who have never played football before.

Through this program, girls will learn about football in a fun way with Disney stories, and the ambassador of the UEFA Playmakers project in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Amra Džeko.

“I am glad that, as an ambassador, I am part of this very nice project initiated by UEFA with Disney, which is also supported by our Federation. This is a wonderful opportunity for all girls to get involved in sports and football, our favourite game, through the imaginative and fun world of their favourite stories. There is no doubt that through this program the girls will enjoy and get closer to the sport in a new and interesting way. We can promise all girls good fun with a ball and super fun “Frozen 2”. So, register your daughters in the nearest school and let the game begin!”, says Amra.

UEFA and Disney have created Playmakers, Europe’s largest program for girls that aims to promote women’s football, through innovative and fun training sessions that follow the magical fantasy world of Disney’s most popular films.
