MILENA NIKOLIĆ, captain of the women's national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Milena Nikolić was born on July 6, 1992, in Trebinje, where she began her football career in the youth selections of ZFK "Leotar". After that, she played for ZFK "Ekonomist" from Niksic for a year, from where she moved to ZFK "Mašinac" from Nis in 2009, with which she won the championship and the cup of Serbia.
After that, her football journey took her to Subotica, where in 2010 she moved to the best Serbian club "Spartak" from Subotica, with which she won 6 consecutive titles in the championship and the Cup and played in the Women's Champions League. In the 2013/14 season, Milena was the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League with 11 goals, and a year later, she was in second place. Of course, in the Serbian championship, she was always at the very top of the list of scorers.
Good games and her goal-scoring killerness did not go unnoticed, so in 2016 she moved to the "Sand", where she scored 12 goals in 44 games. After that, he moved to Bayer Leverkusen, where he still plays with a lot of success. So far, she has recorded over 50 games for Bayer and scored more than 25 goals.
Throughout her career, Milena was a member of the women's national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in recent years she has been the captain of "Dragoness". What sets Milena apart from most football players is that she can play with a lot of success in both attack and defense, but she likes to be closer to the opponent's goal.
ONE DZEKO, captain of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Edin Džeko was born on March 17, 1986 in Sarajevo. He started his career as a ten-year-old in the youth selections of Željezničar. At the age of 18, he left Sarajevo and moved to Teplice, where he distinguished himself with his goal-scoring performance and was named the best foreign football player in the Czech league. He spent one season on loan at "Usti nad Labem".
His great goal-scoring predispositions were noticed in Wolfsburg, where he moved in 2007. In the 2008/2009 season, with 26 goals, he led Wolfsburg to the championship title, which was one of the biggest surprises in the history of the Bundesliga. In the "Wolves" jersey, he scored a total of 85 goals in 145 games.
He then moved to Manchester City, where he continued to win trophies. With the "Citizens" he won two Premier Leagues (2012 and 2014), one League Cup (2014), one FA Cup (2011), and one Super Cup (2013). In four and a half seasons in Manchester, he played 189 games and scored 72 goals.
After Germany and England, it's time for a new top European league. In the summer of 2015, he moved to Roma and stayed there for six years. 119 goals in 260 games, ranked him among the legends at the "Olimpico". In the 2016/2017 season, he was the top scorer in Serie A with 29 goals.
When many "wrote him off" because of his age, believing that he had surpassed his playing zenith, Dzeko transferred to Inter and continued to hit the nets as in the best days.
Edin Džeko played 118 games for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina until the end of 2021 and scored 61 goals, and his greatest success was in 2014 when Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for one big football competition, the World Cup, for the first and only time. After this championship, Džeko received the captain's armband of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to his football career, Dzeko is very active in humanitarian actions and has the status of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2009. He is the winner of the "April 6th" Sarajevo Award for 2013.
