The European Championship for female cadets, which started today with matches in Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica and Široki Brijeg, is the first UEFA competition to be organized in our country.
In the first round, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina met their peers from the Netherlands and were defeated 8:0.
The match started with a minute of silence for the legendary Ivica Osim, the honorary president of the BH FF, who passed away two days ago in Graz.
The Netherlands took the lead in the 22nd minute with a beautiful goal by Fieke Kroese. Bosnia and Herzegovina captain Gloria Slišković fouled Hanna Huizenga about 20 meters from the goal, and Kroese gave her team an advantage with precise shots over the living wall.
Seven minutes later, the Netherlands doubled their advantage. Fieke Kroese crossed from the right side toward Isa Kardinaal, whose shot was defended by Nejra Hejub, but Hanna Huizenga ran onto the bounced ball and sent it to the goal for 2:0.
In the 41st minute, the Netherlands scored the third goal. Danique Tolhoek shot from the edge of the penalty area, the ball bounced off Ajla Balić, changed direction and deceived the goalkeeper Nejra Hejub, who was powerless in this situation.
The final result of the first half was set by Lotte Keukelaar after a solo break on the left side, when she hit the closer corner of the home team’s goal.
In the period from the 70th to the 74th minute, the Dutch scored even three goals. First, Lotte Keukelaar scored a goal assisted by Fieke Kroese, and in the 73rd and 74th minute, Fieke Kroese scored two more goals for the first “hat-trick” in this championship.
The final 8:0 was set by Aniek Janssen in the 83rd minute, assisted by Melissa Schilder.
