On the occasion of the last behaviours of the long-time national team player, Ognjen Vranješ, who, by inappropriate messages and tattoos, violated the reputation of the Federation and the national team which colours he defends, the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announces the following Statement:
We sharply and unreservedly condemn the shocking behaviour of the national team player, Ognjen Vranješ, because his messages, no matter how they are expressed, are not in the spirit of the values for which the FF BH stands and do not represent the characteristics of a true athlete who should be a role model for younger generations.
A fighting spirit and attitude at the pitch of Vranješ have so far been unquestionable; however, his behaviour outside the field is not acceptable and does not reflect the attitudes, policies and goals of the Federation and the national team that represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world in the best way.
The FF BH unequivocally condemns all forms of glorification of fascism and its supporters who inflict damage not only on the Federation and the national team, but also on the entire country. The priority of every true athlete should be the fight against racism, discrimination, violence, hate speech, so the FF BH also expects that all national team players should be bearers of new advanced ideas and progress, and not destroyers of the foundations on which the unity and integrity of the Federation rely.
