"There's always some disappointment with the result when you're leading ten minutes before the end of the game. We had a bit of luck in defense, just as we had some good opportunities in attack. I think that, looking at both sides, 1:1 is a deserved result in the end. For us, this is a good point going forward in the group stage. The result opens the door to the second round. We know how many points may be needed to advance, but we don't want to make calculations after the first match. We still have Switzerland and Qatar ahead of us. We'll try to win those matches as well, but this point is certainly satisfactory. All 27 players who are with us, including the injured Nidal Čelik, are giving their maximum and repaying the trust placed in them on the field. I'm happy for Jovo Lukić, first and foremost because he's a striker and lives off goals."
Jovo Lukić, the scorer of BiH's only goal in the match, said there was still regret over the missed opportunity to win, but said that the point earned is important for the remainder of the tournament:
"If I'd imagined my first goal in the national team jersey, I couldn't have wished for a better setting than the World Cup. I'm sorry we didn't win, it would've pleased me more if we'd taken all three points and I hadn't scored. However, I'm happy about the goal and about the point we've got. This point opens the path toward further progress in the tournament and qualification for the knockout stage. We have to keep fighting for every ball and every pass, just as we did in this match, and give everything we have if we want to advance. Thanks to the fans for their support. I don't have the words to describe the atmosphere—out on the field, I could only hear our supporters."
